Tey was super friendly and approachable as soon as she greeted us. This was our first experience and she was so excited for us and made excellent recommendations. We happened to be here during Happy Hour which was a nice suprise! Tey recommended the calamari and Kings Boil. Great suggestions! We both like spice but Tey suggested us for us to go with Mild spice and get the fire on the side. This was perfect so we could add spice as we wanted. The portion sizes were amazing. We are both leaving full and satisfied. Kita the manager was so friendly and gave us great suggestions for getting around downtown Detroit. We will be back!

I wasn't impressed nor was a couple others who joined the group for dinner. I have seen their commercials and when I checked their menu I saw they added some more reasonable options like baskets and po boys. Fish boils isn't on my menu. Not busy at all, so I was seated to wait for the others. Only had Pepsi products so that cost them a star. I got the shrimp basket with sweet potato fries and the hush puppies appetizer. A couple got either the regular or smaller boil that you can customize. The other got to a clam basket. The breading on the shrimp was heavy and dry. It just crumble off. The hush puppies are not even near my top 10. I will admit the shrimp did taste better when I heated it up. The sides are huge and shareable. The service was friendly when they were there. The music was almost too loud for table talk. The decor was what you expected. Not my cup of tea but glad I tried.

AC the bartender/service gave exceptional service. He was patient, listened and explained everything since it was our first time. He even bought extra things to compliment our meal without us asking. The food was just as good as the service! This was our first time and it was a great value for the money. I'll definitely be back.

Hook & Reel did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Our server Deangelo made sure we had everything we needed, checked on us throughout our meal, and made us feel like valued guests. The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious! The seafood was seasoned to perfection with bold Cajun flavors, and every bite was worth it. The portions were generous, and the overall dining experience was fun and enjoyable. If you’re looking for great seafood, excellent customer service, and a laid-back atmosphere to enjoy with family or friends, I definitely recommend Hook & Reel. We’ll definitely be back for another seafood feast!

Whether you say dinner or supper, Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar is a great place to meet up with girlfriends/sisters to dine and catch up on each other’s lives. β€œLife be lifing”and you need your sisters! There are several seating options and even a backdrop for a photo op at the entrance. Awe shucks, I forgot to take a picture of it! This is a very festive place for folks. Hook & Reel is not afraid to celebrate you! We joined in with clapping for every birthday serenade we witnessed. We heard this over a dozen times: ….”Happy, Happy Birthday!!! ….We wish it was our birthday so we could have crab too!!!” Josh! Josh! Josh! He was a great server and conversationalist. Upon returning, I want to sit in his section, please! The hostess greeter and staff all were very nice. The menu choices are abundant here but I had to go for a boil watching the steaming stacks of inflated bags going to other tables. The boil options are vast and range from $16 to $121 depending on what floats your boat. I decided on the Shrimp 1/2 pound boil with garlic butter sauce, mild spice, corn-on-the cob and (2) potatoes. In opening the bag and releasing the steam, was the beginning of a true dining experi
